Gallivan, White & Boyd, P. A. has been ranked in the 2016 “Best Law Firms” list by U. S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers ® in six practice areas. Those practices include commercial litigation, insurance law, mass tort litigation/class actions-defendants, personal injury litigation– defendants, product liability litigation–defendants, and workers’ compensation law-employers.

The Columbia office of Fisher & Phillips has received “Metropolitan Tier 1 Rankings” for its employment law management, labor law management, ERISA litigation, and labor and employment litigation practices by U. S. News - Best Lawyers ®.

Additionally, the law firm has been named 2016 “Law Firm of the Year” for labor law-management by U. S. News- Best Lawyers ®. The firm also received “Tier 1 Rankings” for its employment and labor law practices as well as its labor and employment litigation practice.

In addition to the Columbia office, 18 of the firm’s offices received “Metropolitan Tier 1 Rankings” for employment law, labor law, employee benefits, and/or labor and employment litigation.

The firm has been included in every edition of the prestigious rankings since its inception in 2010 and also was named the 2015 “Law Firm of the Year” for labor & employment litigation.

McAngus Goudelock & Courie, a regional insurance defense firm has added Ashley Wheeling Goodson to the firm’s Columbia office. Wheeling Goodson’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation.

Wheeling-Goodson received her juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and her bachelor of arts from the University of South Carolina. She is a member of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, the Richland County Bar Association, the South Carolina Black Lawyers’ Association, the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys, and the South Carolina Young Lawyer’s Division. Prior to joining MGC, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable DeAndrea Gist Benjamin of the Fifth Judicial Circuit.

Moore Taylor Law Firm announced S. Jahue ( Jake) Moore has been named Greater West Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year for his commitment to West Columbia’s Beautification Foundation and improving many areas of the city. Moore was given the award at the chamber’s 2015 annual awards dinner Tuesday, September 29, 2015.

Moore practices civil litigation, criminal litigation, local government law, administrative law, education law, and commercial litigation. He is a founding partner of Moore Taylor Law Firm and a member of the S.C. Trial Lawyers Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has taught at the U.S.C. School of Law and has served as counsel to the Legislative Audit Counsel for the S.C. General Assembly.

In addition to his work with West Columbia’s Beautification Foundation, he is a founding member of the Irmo Arbor Day Committee and works with other environment and beautification groups. He has also served as chairman of the U.S.C. Board of Visitors.
