In set one, Molly Mazoué served nine straight points for the Cardinals, including three aces in succession, forcing the Highlanders to use a quick timeout. After the timeout, Kidwell had one of her kills before Heathwood Hall scored three straight points on Cardinal unforced errors.

Kidwell stopped the streak with her second kill, and then Audrey Meyers scored consecutive points on a kill and a block to help push the Cardinal lead to 13-4. Townsend Christian served successive aces to narrow the gap to six, but Flowers sandwiched a kill and an ace around a Mazoué kill to stretch the lead back to nine.

After the Cardinals took a 22-10 lead due to Highlander unforced errors, Logan Watson finished off the set with a pair of aces.

Kidwell had a kill on the first point of the set, and Jayden Johnson countered with one of her own for the Highlanders. After 10 points, the score was tied at five.

Kathleen Williams earned a side-out for the Cardinals with a kill for 6- 5, then a pair of blocks by Madeline Turnipseed around a pair of mishits gave Cardinal Newman a 10-5 lead and resulted in a Highlander timeout.

When play resumed, Heathwood took advantage of three Cardinal errors and points by Brooke Edwards (kill), Townsend Christian (ace), and Morgan Goodwin (block) to rally and take an 11-10 lead.

Three errors in four points by Heathwood put Cardinal Newman back on top 14-11, and while the Highlanders were able to get close, they could never tie the score again. Cardinal Newman won the set on a kill by Turnipseed.

The third set began much like the first, with Mazoué having two aces in a four-serve string, and her sister Molly added an ace at the end of another four-serve stretch to force the Highlanders to call a timeout down 9-1.

Flinn Christian got the serve back for the Highlanders, and Heathwood slowly climbed back into the game behind Johnson, Christian, and Allie Carter. After an ace by Flinn Christian, Cardinal Newman called a timeout up 17-13.

Christian and Carter had consecutive kills to bring Heathwood to within two. A couple of Highlander errors gave the Cardinals a four-point lead, but a Cardinal error and a Christian kill cut the lead to two again. At 20-18, Johnson served three successive aces to give Heathwood Hall its first lead of the third game at 21- 20.

Two unforced errors and a block by Jackie Johnston put CN back up 23-21. After a kill by Molly Mazoué put the Cardinals in position to win the match at 24- 22, an error followed by a kill by Edwards tied the score again at 24. The Cardinals got a kill from Johnston to earn a side-out and the serve. Flowers put the match away with her final kill.

Meyers had five kills and two blocks, Molly Mazoué had five aces, and Watson had three aces and 12 sets for Cardinal Newman. Flinn Christian had five kills and Johnson had four aces for the Highlanders.
