Miriam Lovett, chair of commemorative events for the Granby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, attended Carolina Day in Charleston on June 28, 2018 with her daughter Maria Cole, Granby chair of Children of the American Revolution. Two of her Miriam’s grandchildren also attended and are members of the Col. Thomas Taylor Society C.A.R.

Carolina Day commemorates the Battle of Sullivan’s Island on June 28, 1776. The Order for Morning Prayer was held at St. Michael’s Church at 10 a.m. After the church service, everyone gathered in Washington Square and lined up for the parade to White Point Garden, the historic waterfront park located on the Charleston Battery.
